About Judge Moreno

Judge Sasha Moreno was elected to serve as Dallas County Justice of the Peace 4-2 in 2018. As of November 2021, Precinct 4 includes Carrollton, Coppell, Irving, Grand Prairie, Cedar Hill, Desoto, and Ovilla.

Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Judge Moreno received her Bachelors of Art in Journalism and Political Science from the University of North Texas. She is also a graduate of Pepperdine School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor and Masters in Dispute Resolution.

As an attorney, Judge Moreno has extensive experience advocating for clients in both federal and state courtrooms. She has practiced law in the areas of immigration, foreclosure defense and corporate transactions.

The Justice of the Peace Courts in Dallas County hear thousands of cases each year and millions of dollars in fines and costs are collected that benefit the taxpayers of Dallas County and the State of Texas.

Judge Moreno currently presides over evictions, small claims, debt claims, traffic and other legal matters. She pledges to give everyone access to the justice system and provide an equal opportunity to receive a fair and just outcome.

Judge Moreno is committed to serving her community and is active in various organizations and professional associations. She currently resides in Irving, Texas with her family.

MENTORS high school and college students interested in law through an internship program.

EDUCATION

OFFERS education courses for first-time Class C misdemeanor offenders and truancy students in lieu of paying fines.

Co-Administrative Judge to advocate for all JP courts in Dallas County

MEDIATION

IMPLEMENTED free mediation so that civil cases can be settled out of court saving litigants time and money.

Vote By Mail

For the March 3, 2026 election, the last day your

vote by mail application can be received by the Dallas County Elections Office is Friday, February 20, 2026.

When submitting a Mail Ballot application, Dallas County Elections strongly advises applicants to include both their Identification Number and the last four digits of their Social Security Number (SSN).
